8 Pumpkin Desserts to Fall for This Autumn

#

Did someone say pumpkin spice? Because during Fall, one simply cannot have too much pumpkin spice.  It’s in our drinks, our candles, the colors in our house! Heck, I’m pretty sure it’s about to become it’s own food group (and I’m not complaining). Pumpkin spice has officially become the quintessential autumn treat, and for everyone, too!

Here’s a round up of the best pumpkin desserts to try this Fall. Grab your apron – we’re going cooking!

Pumpkin Ice Cream Gingersnap Pie

• An ice cream pie for Thanksgiving may sound almost revolutionary, but it delivers classic flavors and convenience. Made ahead and frozen, it doesn’t require valuable oven or counter space. Plus, you can vary the formula pretty much however you like, with different cookies, ice cream flavors, and toppings.

Active Time: 1 Hour 45 Mins

Total (including freezing) Time: 5 Hours 45 Mins

Yield: Makes one 9-in. pie (serving 9 to 12)

Apple Pumpkin Galette

• Basically an open-face pie, this galette is a great dessert for pie-phobes to make because the crust is so easy to handle – you don’t even need a pie pan!

Total Time: 2 Hours

Cool Time: 2 Hours

Yield: Serves 8 to 10

Kabocha Squash Crème Fraîche Pie

• Feel free to swap in other squash in this recipe: Sugar Pie comes out sweeter, and canned pumpkin is mellow-tasting, if less distinctive. Shauna Sever, an 18 Reasons instructor, suggested the spicy gingersnap layer. BTW, you’ll need a 9-in. deep-dish pie pan for this one.

Cool Time: 2 Hours

Yield: Serves 8

Bruleed Pumpkin Pie

• This incredible fall-pumpkin recipe is pumpkin pie meets crème brûlee, and totally worthy of your next dinner party!

Total Time: 2 Hours

Chill Time: 2 Hours

Yield: Serves 10 (serving size: 1/5 of tart)

Pumpkin Streusel Pie

• This is my favorite pumpkin pie, ever! With that said – don’t you think you better try it? It is what pumpkin pie dreams are made of. It’s perfectly pumpkin-y, it has just enough spice, and the well textured streusel just takes it way over the top.

Yield: Makes 10 to 12 servings

Pumpkin Bread with Cream Cheese Caramel Icing

• The best part is how easy this pumpkin bread is to make!

Total Time: 1 Hour, 20 Mins

Cook Time: 55 Mins

Yield: Serves 8-10

BAKED PUMPKIN SPICE DONUTS WITH MAPLE GLAZE

• These donuts are bursting with pumpkin flavor.  Made with pure pumpkin, tons of pumpkin spice and International Delight’s Pumpkin Pie Spice Creamer, it’s about as pumpkin-y as you can get.  I also used the creamer in the maple glaze for a bit more pumpkin pie spice flavor. Unforgettable!

Yield: One dozen donuts
